Parallel Generation

New Belgium Brewery uses a combined heat and power plant to generate 300 kW of electricity and 400 kW of heat. The grid- connected generator is fueled by biogas generated onsite as part of the wastewater treatment process.

  1. Get Started

    • Review the Fort Collins Interconnection Standards (PDF 209KB)
    • Meet with Utilities staff early to review your plans; and

(Contact your contractor and/or equipment manufacturer for assistance obtaining information required in the application).
  2. Sign Contractual Agreement
Utilities will develop an agreement to provide credit for the electricity you generate and to address standby and other charges.
  3. Purchase Equipment & Install System (once application is approved and contractual agreement signed).
