Lighting Efficiency

  • Funded at the rate of $0.05 per 0.1 Watt per SF reduction from the lighting power density allowed by ASHRAE 901 – 2004, using either the Building Area Method or the Space-by-Space Method.
  • Lighting power density for the proposed efficient lighting design must be determined in accordance with ASHRAE’s method.
    • Proposed lighting wattage is determined as described in Section 9.1.4 Luminaire Wattage—a fixture’s wattage is based on the maximum wattage lamp allowed by a fixture or its ballast.
  • In addition, 4-foot ballasts driving T8 fluorescent lamps must meet or exceed the Ballast Efficacy Factors specified below.
