Gary Hixon and Lincoln Center present the 14th ArtWear Event at the Lincoln Center.
ArtWear Fashion Week will feature a Preview Event, Week-Long Sales Gallery, Demonstrations, KnitWear and more. The ticketed Preview Event on September 5, will include an elegant runway fashion show while patrons enjoy wine & desserts.
ArtWear Fashion Week is dedicated to highlighting the work of wearable art artists. Wearable art in all media styles are welcome including garments, ensembles, hats, and handbags, but not jewelry. Garments for both men and women are encouraged. Individual or collaborative entries are invited.
Cash Awards will be presented, including a $500 FIBERARTS Magazine award.
Lincoln Center is a city-owned performing arts, visual arts, and conference facility and will use the proceeds from this event to support its visual arts program.

Our goal is to preset innovative & wearable works of the highest quality and provide a forum to share our enthusiasm for an exploration into wearable art techniques and materials.
In conjunction with ArtWear Fashion Week, the Lincoln Center is presenting the third annual KnitWear: A Knitting/Fibers Extravaganza on Sunday, September 7, 2008 in the Lincoln Center Canyon West Room from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Tickets are sold at the door: $5 for adults, $3 for students, children 11 and under are free.
This unique event celebrates the world of knitting and fibers. Come enjoy free Demonstrations throughout the day, Giveaways, and Merchants Booths where you can purchase yarns, beads, and kits. We also offer a Sit n' Knit area where you can bring projects with you and work on them while you visit, and you can visit the Knit Knot Table where you can visit with our consultant to ask questions or learn a new technique!
