Particular attention will be placed on disability accommodations/modifications and the importance of consistent application of bylaws and penalties in order to avoid engaging in discrimination. The seminar will be conducted by Erica Gagne, Owner of 4 Point Training Solutions. Ms. Gagne has worked for state civil rights agencies in both Colorado and Massachusetts as a Fair Housing Compliance Investigator. Oct 14 - Creating Functional Boards - FREE
If everyone on your board is rowing in the same direction you could accomplish so much. But, because boards involve people and people are imperfect, boards are inherently dysfunctional. During this hands-on session, we'll explore the 5 phases of board development and how to manage them to increase functionality. We'll also help you understand and communicate with difficult people - bullies, wallflowers and chronic complainers - in order to improve your board's functionality

City of Fort Collins ImageHow Do You Say It?
Have you ever had a neighbor with a barking dog? Or a noisy house on your block? And did you wonder how you might best convey this information to those neighbors? Neighborhood Services is offering up a few "template letters" to help neighbors deal with sticky situations. You can use these letters and fill in your own specifics. Even if you don't want to send a letter, these may give you some ideas on how to approach a neighbor and start a conversation. We have also included a "Welcome Letter" that may help break the ice as you meet and greet new neighbors!
