Travel Demand Management#

FC Moves is developing a travel demand management (TDM) program branded as Shift Your Ride Travel Options. A TDM program employs a suite of strategies to help people SHIFT to travel modes leading to improved mobility, reduced congestion, and lower vehicle emissions. TDM programs employ strategies that include programs, policies, marketing, communications, incentives, pricing, data, and technology to encourage people to shift their mode of travel.

A TDM program complements infrastructure with a focus on understanding how people use the infrastructure in place for transit ridesharing, walking, biking, and telework.

The Shift Your Ride program will also focus on expanding access to electric vehicles (EV) and EV infrastructure.

Program Development#

A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) comprised of City staff and external stakeholders was assembled to provide input to the plan and program development. In addition to various City departments, the TAC is comprised of stakeholders from Colorado State University (CSU), Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Larimer County, North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO), Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Chamber of Commerce and Poudre School District (PSD).

To better understand mobility barriers and needs, focus groups will be conducted with small businesses, low-income residents, essential/shift workers, the education sector, transportation service providers, and organizations that support economic success and job access.
