This mural design is a reflection of the adventures and connections Rebekah forged last year. Venturing out on her own at 18, she finally tasted freedom in a nurturing environment, embracing a plethora of new experiences. These encounters expanded her horizons, revealing the myriad joys, both grand and subtle, that life has to offer. She formed enduring bonds and delved into uncharted territories. As 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, with its promise of evolution and abundance heralded by the Wood Dragon, she's filled with optimism for rejuvenated beginnings and fun new adventures. Her aspiration for this year mirrors the fulfillment, excitement, and adventure of the past, coupled with the promise of fresh starts and sustained, positive transformations. Drawing inspiration from Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and her African heritage, her artistic style embodies a fusion of whimsy and tradition. She enjoys shapes and bold, geometric colors, paying homage to her ancestry. The breathtaking landscapes of Fort Collins and Colorado at large have left an indelible mark on her creativity. Infusing a touch of whimsy with pastel hues and vibrant accents, she aims to evoke a sense of wonder and detail. 

Rebekah Lwanga, also known as Bekka, was born in California, She has been creating for as long as she can remember. Her work draws inspiration from whimsical shapes, her colorful Ugandan heritage, and cartoons like Gravity Falls. Moving to Colorado at 14, she was immediately captivated by the local art scene. Now at 19, this past year has been full of adventures, freedom, and new experiences. She is incredibly grateful for her friends and their support, which inspired this piece. She hopes her art helps make Fort Collins a more vibrant, connected, and inspiring place to live.
