In the Customer Service Lobby of the Utility Administration Building, a wall hung piece, “Amid the Grid (You Are Here),” and sculptural wall extension, “Clear Connection,” are both made with glass, sandstone, metal, and multiple utility objects selected by the artists in the Utility supply warehouse. The grid pattern of the wall-hung piece is taken directly from a detail section of a map of the City of Fort Collins and the wall extension is influenced by mountains, rivers, and terrain surrounding the City of Fort Collins.
For “Sustaining the Flow” stained- and etched-glass are placed in the windows of the east and west stairwells. Water and energy are symbolized both through color and patterns. The west stairwell is inspired by the power and use of water, flowing lines, blue and green color, depictions of a manhole cover and pentagonal bolts represent the management of water from its sources into the community system.
In the North Lobby of the Utility Administration Building is “Toposphere,” a sculptural wall-hung piece is created from dyed PVC pipes of different diameters mounted in a topographical pattern representing Horsetooth Reservoir and the foothills to the West.
