Lately I’ve seen wild turkeys where I live on the north side of Ft. Collins. They are truly amazing birds that can race through the grass with amazing speed and fly to the highest tree in the neighborhood, it’s a privilege to see them so close to home. They are incredibly beautiful and despite being passed over by the Bald Eagle as the National Bird, they are native only in North America and are the quintessential American Bird.
