FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The City of Fort Collins invites the community to celebrate its 18th Annual Winter Bike to Work Day on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025. This year participants can enjoy a day filled with coffee, breakfast and winter biking fun—all while showing their bikes some love on Valentine’s Day. Whether commuting to work, school or another destination, anyone using an active mode of transportation like biking, walking or scooting is encouraged to join the festivities.
“Winter Bike to Work Day is a wonderful way to embrace the spirit of Fort Collins in the colder months,” City of Fort Collins Active Modes Specialist AnnMarie Kirkpatrick said. “It’s all about celebrating our active transportation community while enjoying the unique charm of winter biking.”
Breakfast stations will be open from 7-9:30 a.m. at locations across Fort Collins, offering warm drinks, tasty treats and fun giveaways. Afternoon stations will also be available from 3:30-5:30 p.m., making it easy for participants to engage on their way home. A map of station locations will be posted at fcgov.com/BTWD prior to the event.
There will be no closing ceremony this year as the City continues to focus on enhancing the participant experience at stations throughout the day.
Winter Bike to Work Day is a long-standing tradition in Fort Collins, offering a chance to connect with others, reduce vehicle miles traveled, and enjoy the benefits of active transportation. In 2023, over 5,400 participants prevented 44,236 vehicle miles traveled, saving approximately 16 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.
