On the morning of Tuesday, February 18, 2025, a man turned himself into Larimer County Jail following the issuance of an arrest warrant for felony sexual assault.

In May 2024, an adult female victim reported to Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) Detectives that a male acquaintance, Aaron Moore (dob 11/21/2001), had sexually assaulted her while she was incapacitated. After socializing and drinking with a group of friends in downtown Fort Collins, the two had shared a ride to Moore’s residence, where the assault took place. After reviewing evidence and interviewing multiple witnesses to that evening’s progression, detectives requested an arrest warrant for Moore on the following charges:

· Class 3 Felony - Sexual Assault, victim is physically helpless

· Class 4 Felony - Sexual Assault, victim is unable to appraise their conduct

Moore turned himself into Larimer County Jail, and a $5,000 cash bond was set the same afternoon. A booking photo is attached, courtesy of the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.

"We know that crimes involving sexual assault are often traumatic," said Sgt. Dan Calahan, who oversees the FCPS Crimes Against Persons Unit. "Our team of detectives and advocates are committed to guiding survivors through the legal system and supporting them on their path to recovery."

Moore was a student at Colorado State University (CSU) at the time of the assault. CSU Police and Title IX are cooperating with the investigation. Based on details of the investigation, detectives are concerned there may be additional victims. Anyone with information about these or other incidents is asked to contact Criminalist David Blake at dblake@fcgov.com. Anyone who would like to remain anonymous can contact Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868 or www.stopcriminals.org.

Charges are merely an accusation by law enforcement and all suspects must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
