Fort Collins Police Arrest Suspect Associated with Three Sexual Assaults
In March 2025, Fort Collins Police (FCPS) investigated three independent cases of sexual assault involving two different victims. These victims were not known to each other.
On March 16, 2025, a victim reported to FCPS she was sexually assaulted by a stranger around 2 a.m. as she was walking downtown. A man approached her and sexually assaulted her. She was able to run away and made a report to police the same day.
On March 23, 2025, a different victim called 911 to report she was being sexually assaulted by a man she met on a dating application. He fled when the victim called 911. The victim later revealed to FCPS detectives the same suspect sexually assaulted her during a previous encounter approximately two weeks prior.
Working with District 1 Patrol officers, detectives determined the suspect was the same in each of these three reports. He was identified as Jesse Romero DiGrappa (DOB 07/16/1997), who recently moved to Fort Collins in January of 2025.
On Thursday, April 3, 2025, detectives took DiGrappa into custody and booked him into Larimer County Jail on the following charges:
· Class 1 Misdemeanor - Unlawful Sexual Contact (2 Counts)
· Class 4 Felony - Unlawful Sexual Contact (1 Count)
· Class 4 Felony - Sexual Assault (3 Counts)
· Class 1 Misdemeanor - Possessing a Dangerous or Illegal Weapon (1 Count)
During the investigation, detectives seized metallic knuckles belonging to DiGrappa. Metallic knuckles are considered an illegal weapon in the State of Colorado and possession of this item is prohibited. No weapons were used in the commission of any of the reported sexual assaults.
Based on details of the investigation, detectives are concerned there may be additional victims. Anyone with information about these incidents or the suspect, and who has not already spoken to police, is asked to contact Detective RJ Tuttle at (970) 416-2575, or rtuttle@fcgov.com.
Charges are merely an accusation by law enforcement and all suspects must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
