Fort Collins Police Arrest Suspect for Human Trafficking of a Minor

On March 6, 2025, Larimer County Department of Human Services notified Fort Collins Police (FCPS) about a possible incident of sexual trafficking. FCPS launched an investigation into the report and found that, for approximately one month, John R. Fischer (DOB 7/08/1974) was providing alcohol, methamphetamine, and cocaine to minors as well as engaging in sexual activities with at least one victim in exchange for cash and clothing.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, detectives took Fischer into custody and booked him into Larimer County Jail on the following charges:

  • Class 4 Felony - Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (3 Counts)
  • Class 2 Felony - Human Trafficking of a Minor for Sexual Servitude (1 Count)

Additional charges were filed on April 4, 2025:

  • Class 1 Felony - Distribution of a Controlled Substance to a Minor, Schedule II (2 Counts)
  • Class 4 Felony - Sexual Assault (2 Counts)
  • Class 2 Felony - Pandering of a Child (1 Count)

“It is vital we protect those most vulnerable in our society and ensure they can thrive in our community without fear of abuse or exploitation,” said Assistant Chief Frank Barrett, who oversees the FCPS Criminal Investigations Division.

Fischer is also on parole as a result of a previous case in Fort Collins. This case involves juveniles, no additional information will be released.

Charges are merely an accusation by law enforcement and all suspects must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
