Police Investigate Serious Pedestrian vs. Motor Vehicle Crash
On November 21, 2024, at approximately 4:19 p.m., Fort Collins Police were notified of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in the 3800 Block of E. Mulberry St. When officers and medical personnel arrived on scene they located a 50 year old female unconscious in the roadway and a Subaru Outback adjacent. The pedestrian was immediately transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, members of the Collision Reconstruction And Scene Handling (CRASH) team assisted with the investigation.
The investigation has so far revealed that the Outback was traveling west bound on E. Mulberry St. in the inner lane and the pedestrian was crossing from the north to the south side of the roadway. She was in the company of another person, who had elected not to cross the road due to the oncoming traffic.
“Utilizing crosswalks and walking defensively are the best measures for pedestrians to ensure their safety,” said Sgt. David Lindsay, who oversees the FCPS CRASH team. "Be focused and alert, use well-lit crosswalks and obey crossing signals. We want everyone to get to their destination safely."
West bound Mulberry was closed for approximately three and a half hours while investigators processed the scene. Anyone with information about this collision who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Officer Phil Morris at (970) 221-6540.
