The City of Fort Collins will host an open house this month regarding the renovation of the tennis complex and playground at Rolland Moore Community Park. The Fort Collins community is encouraged to attend the open house and share their input regarding the future improvements.
Under the 2022 Parks Infrastructure Replacement Program Plan, the tennis complex and playground were identified as amenities in need of improvements. The 2050 Sales Tax Initiative, approved by Fort Collins voters in 2023, allocates funds specifically to Parks, Recreation, Transit and Climate. Funds invested through the Parks Department will support the replacement, upgrade, maintenance and accessibility of park amenities and facilities. The Rolland Moore Community Park tennis complex and playground improvements are among the first major park projects funded by the 2050 tax investment.
“Rolland Moore Community Park has long been a vital hub for play, recreation, and connection in Fort Collins,” says David Hansen, Park Planning & Development Manager. “The renovation of the tennis complex and playground is about more than just replacing old infrastructure – it’s an investment in the well-being of our community. I’m excited to work alongside residents to ensure these improvements reflect the needs and hopes of those who use this space most.”
GET INVOLVED
The planning efforts for the renovations at Rolland Moore Community Park are underway and the community is invited to get involved through a variety of engagement opportunities. The first of which is an open house on Thursday, April 24, at Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive, from 5:30-7 p.m.
The open house will feature interactive exercises intended to identify community priorities and preferences related to the tennis complex and playground at Rolland Moore Community Park. Bilingual materials, onsite Spanish interpretation, and a children’s activity will be available at the event.
Unable to attend the open house? A questionnaire will be added to the project website following the open house for the community to provide their input.
Community members are encouraged to stay connected to the project by visiting the website and signing up to receive periodic project updates via email at ourcity.fcgov.com/rollandmoore.
