Notes
Flora of North America recognizes two subspecies of S. altissima, both native to the U.S. Subspecies altissima is native primarily in the eastern U.S. and gilvocanescens is native to the central U.S. including Colorado and the Fort Collins area.
Plants in the genus Solidago are important larval and adult food hosts for many of our native invertebrates.
