There are seven subspecies of A. maritima identified by The Plant List, version 1.1. Five originate from Europe, Asia, Greenland, or Canada. Flora of North America recognizes two that are native to the U.S., subspecies californica and sibirica. Subspecies sibirica is the only subspecies native to Colorado.
Will rot if overwatered.
