Notes
One of if not the toughest maple for Fort Collins. Can thrive with very little water and become a small bushy tree. Large amount of genetic variation lead to small to medium mature size. Good fall color and should be used more. Tends to not like to be transplanted so it is not commonly available in B&B. Should be mulched heavily and is shown to benefit from mycorrhizae. Should not be planted along major roads due to poor salt tolerance. This cultivar is grafted onto sugar maple rootstock. May be subject to sunscald.
