Notes
Flora of Colorado recognizes five varieties of L. argentea that are native to Colorado. They vary slightly in appearance and mostly prefer moist soils. Varieties parviflorus, rubricaulis, and fulvomaculatus can be found on the east and west slope and holosericeus is only found on the west. Variety argentea prefers dry places and can be found on the east and west slope of Colorado.
This is an Important larval and adult food host for many of our native invertebrates.
