Fort Collins Home to First CHIPS Zone#

Fort Collins CHIPs Zone

CHIPS ZONE INCENTIVES
The State of Colorado has designated a geographical area within the City of Fort Collins as a CHIPS Zone. Eligible semiconductor companies of taxpayers engaged in semiconductor manufacturing located in the CHIPS Zone can access the following state income tax credits from the Enterprise Zone program:

  • Qualified Investment Tax Credit
    • Job Training Tax Credit 
    • Commercial Vehicle Investment Tax Credit 
  • Business Facility New Employee Tax Credit 
  • Research and Development Tax Credit 

WHY IT MATTERS TO THE FORT COLLINS COMMUNITY

  • Total Gross Regional Product (GRP) is $762.3M (2022) 
  • Fort Collins Has 19 companies that employ over 2,500 employees and contribute over $100.6M in direct payroll 
  • Fort Collins has nearly 2,300 jobs in Computer and Electric Product Manufacturing, and wages are competitive with the national average making Fort Collins a hotspot for talent

Whereas in a Circular Economy, products come with only what is needed, last longer, and, when they can't be used anymore, they are easily and safely recycled. Shifting towards circular practices not only aligns with organizational sustainability goals, but also enhances business operations and resilience in the face of climate change.
