Music and my work both share a very important link – that of the repetition or a shadow. Most music has a melody which repeats, often in a quieter way, much like my bicycle and its softer shadow or the refection of an image into the chrome. From here is where my idea for the piano emerged. Rather than focusing on the entire bicycle, I focused on small parts, allowing the shadow to speak louder than the actual bike. In addition, the sides show the beauty of chrome and the reflection in the close up parts on a bicycle. I envision lively brush strokes to create movement and texture, just like music uses rhythm. A strong linear presence will help guide the eye and act as phrasing. The colors will be bright and warm in order to draw the person to the piano and invite them so sit and play for a moment.
