Fort Collins Road and Trail Closures Upcoming in June and July

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A busy summer construction season is bringing multiple full road and trail closures to Fort Collins during June and July 2025. These closures are essential for infrastructure improvements across the city and are expected to impact drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

Power Trail Closed Between Keenland and Trilby (until August)

The Power Trail is fully closed between Keenland Drive and the intersection of East Trilby Road and Southridge Greens Boulevard for construction of the new Siphon Overpass. Once complete in August, the overpass will connect the Power Trail with the newly opened Mail Creek Trail. A date has not been set for reopening.

Detour: Use Keenland → Lemay Avenue → Southridge Greens.

Laporte Closed at Meldrum (until Aug. 1)

Laporte Avenue is fully closed to all traffic at Meldrum Street for sewer line replacement.

Detours:

  • Westbound: Sherwood Street → Maple Street or Mountain Avenue
  • Eastbound: Mason Street → Maple or Mountain

Meldrum Closed from Mountain to Maple (until Sept. 1)

Meldrum is closed between Mountain and Maple for utility work.

  • Cross-traffic on Laporte will open after Aug. 1.
  • The segment from Mountain to Laporte is expected to reopen by Aug. 1, pending project speed.

McClelland Closed from Drake to Horsetooth (Sunday, June 15)

McClelland Drive will be fully closed between West Drake Road and West Horsetooth Road for street maintenance.

Detour: Use College Avenue.

West Swallow Road will remain open at McClelland.

Major impact: Southbound Timberline Closed (June 16–20)

Southbound Timberline Road will be closed between Vine Drive and Donella Court (just north of Mulberry Street/Lincoln Avenue) for asphalt repairs.

  • Northbound Timberline will remain open.
  • Local access: Via Mulberry or Lincoln, using the northbound lane.

Detour: Vine → Lemay or I-25 Frontage Road → Mulberry.

Spring Creek Trail Closed Beneath Timberline (June 16–20)

Full closure for creek cleanup.

Detour: Trail users will use nearby paved paths and the south sidewalk on Prospect Road and cross Timberline at the Prospect intersection.

Westbound Laurel Closed (June 18–20)

Westbound Laurel Street closed between Stover Street and Remington Street for repaving.

  • Cross streets closed: Stover, Smith, Whedbee, Mathews
  • Peterson Street remains open north/south.

Detour: Use Stover → Myrtle Street → Remington.

Doctors Lane Closed at Lemay (June 23–25 & July 3)

Closure at Lemay due to construction at UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital.

Detour: Elizabeth Street → Hospital Lane

Major impact: Northbound Timberline Closed (June 23–27)

Northbound Timberline closed between Donella and Vine for asphalt repairs.

  • Southbound Timberline remains open.
  • Local access: Via Vine, using the southbound lane.

Detour: Mulberry → Lemay or I-25 Frontage Road → Vine.

Eastbound Laurel Closed (June 25–27)

Eastbound Laurel closed between Remington and Stover for repaving.

  • Cross streets closed: Stover, Smith, Whedbee, Mathews
  • Peterson remains open north/south.

Detour: Use Remington → Plum Street → Stover.

Linden Closed Between Walnut and Jefferson (June 26 and 28)

Full closure between Walnut Street and Jefferson Street (State Highway 14) for special events.

Major impact: Trilby Closed at College/U.S. Highway 287 (Starting July 7, until Spring 2026)

Trilby Road will be fully closed at College/U.S. Highway 287 for a major intersection reconstruction project.

  • Trilby will have no access to College/U.S. Highway 287 between Shields and Lemay.
  • A temporary traffic signal will be installed at Triangle Drive and College/U.S. Highway 287 for safe access to/from the Ridgewood Hills neighborhood.
  • Two lanes of traffic in each direction (northbound and southbound) will remain open on College/U.S. Highway 287 during this closure.

Detour options for Trilby:

  • East/westbound travel on Trilby: Shields or Lemay → Harmony
  • Eastbound Trilby to northbound College/U.S. Highway 287: Lemay → Harmony
  • Eastbound Trilby to southbound College/U.S. Highway 287: Lemay → Carpenter (State Highway 392)
  • Westbound Trilby to northbound College/U.S. Highway 287: Shields → Harmony
  • Westbound Trilby to southbound College/U.S. Highway 287: Shields → West 57th Street in Loveland

A date for Trilby’s reopening in Spring 2026 will not be announced until next year.

Ongoing Lane Closures and Maintenance

In addition to these closures, travelers should expect intermittent lane closures due to smaller construction projects and residential street maintenance as part of the City’s Street Maintenance Program.
