Road closures and lane deductions#
From Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 19 these road closures and lane reductions will be in place:
- Eastbound Mulberry St. will be closed to vehicle traffic between S. Mason St. and S. College Ave.
- Westbound Mulberry St. will be reduced from two lanes to one between S. College Ave. and S. Mason St.
- Southbound College Ave. will be reduced from two lanes to one between Mulberry St. and Myrtle St.
- Crosswalk on west side of S. College Ave. at Mulberry St. will be closed. Pedestrians may follow detour signs.
These dates may change based on the progress of the work.

Summary#
The City of Fort Collins Utilities and Streets departments will be conducting work to improve stormwater and pavement infrastructure on the 100 block of W. Mulberry St., just west of S. College Avenue, beginning July 8. The work will be completed in two phases:
- Location: W. Mulberry St. between S. College Ave. and S. Mason St.

Construction work period: Monday, July 8, 2024 - Friday, July 26, 2024
- Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 19: Improving stormwater management beneath Mulberry St. to reduce urban flooding during significant rains (led by Utilities)
- Monday, July 22 - Friday, July 26: Completing asphalt patching, milling and overlay to repave the street following stormwater management improvements (led by Streets)

- Summary of work: Find more information about this project here. Areas near downtown Fort Collins are at risk for urban flooding, including the intersection of Mulberry St. and College Ave., which has experienced urban flooding during periods of intense rainfall. The City’s Stormwater Utility has been working to address stormwater improvement needs for more than four decades, including work related to the Downtown Stormwater Improvement Plan (DSIP).
Work Zone Information
Typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., however work may occur outside these times or on the weekends to expedite the project. Alternate routes are suggested to avoid the construction zones. Drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists should use caution in the work zone.
