What is FCVRT?#

Fort Collins Volunteer Response Team Logo

The Fort Collins Volunteer Response Team (FCVRT) is made up of background checked, CERT-trained volunteers who support emergency preparedness, emergency response and special events locally.

FCVRT provides services to residents of Fort Collins before, during, and after emergencies and disasters. FCVRT is dedicated to making Fort Collins a safer and more resilient community. This team does more than disaster response, by actively engaging in activities that increase personal and community resilience and disaster preparedness and promote community bonds.

This team is limited to residents of Fort Collins. Those who live outside city limits should reach out to their local Emergency Management program for information on their local CERT program.

FCVRT volunteers have the opportunity to support the community in a variety of ways:

  • Special events support
  • Education classes on various emergency preparedness topics
  • Participate in team gatherings
  • Skill development trainings
  • Emergency response activities such as filling sandbags, staffing an emergency shelter, staffing a point of distribution, etc.
  • Disaster preparedness
  • Administrative support
  • Community Outreach
