A map of the impacts to Harmony Road

This map shows the areas of Harmony impacted by construction projects.

There are multiple construction projects impacting East Harmony Road between South College Avenue and South Timberline Road, beginning in February 2025:

  • Harmony Road Work: Phase 2: Led by the City's Streets department, this project will resurface Harmony between College and Timberline - a continuation of last year's resurfacing of Harmony from Timberline to Strauss Cabin Road.
  • Zone 5 Project: Harmony Crossing: Led by Fort Collins-Loveland Water District, this project will install a 24 inch water line across Harmony at Boardwalk Drive - part of a multi-phase water infrastructure project stretching eight miles across the city.
  • Power Trail Harmony Crossing: Led by the City's Engineering department, this project will complete the gap in the Power Trail between Golden Meadows Park and Keenland Drive by building a trail underpass beneath Harmony.

Traffic impacts from these projects are listed below and on our construction webpage.

Phase 2: College to Timberline (2025)#

A map of Phase 2

A map of Phase 2's impacted area

Harmony Road serves as one of Fort Collins' key arterial roads and primary east-west corridors. To maintain the safety and quality of this major road, our crews are repairing concrete infrastructure and resurfacing Harmony's road surface in two phases, continuing with Phase 2 in 2025.

Phase 2 of this project will resurface East Harmony Road between South College Avenue (US 287) and South Timberline Road, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025:

  • Concrete maintenance: Our Streets Maintenance Program (SMP) will begin concrete maintenance on Feb. 5, lasting for 6-8 weeks and depending on favorable weather. Single lane closures will be used as needed during this work.
  • Asphalt resurfacing: This portion of the SMP project will begin after concrete maintenance is complete and last for 4-6 weeks, pending favorable weather. Multiple lane closures will be used as needed during this work; we expect to have at least one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times.

Recap: Phase 1: Timberline to Strauss Cabin (2024)#

Map of planned 2024 maintenance on Harmony Rd.

From March 25 - June 7, 2024 repaving and restriping work was completed on East Harmony Road from South Timberline Road to Strauss Cabin Road approaching I-25. To maintain the safety and quality of this stretch of Harmony, crews repaired and replaced the road surface and select parts of concrete infrastructure.

Crews began milling and overlaying Harmony Road with a new surface on April 29, 2024. Work continued through June 7. During that time, construction closed several lanes of traffic at a time to protect workers and motorists.

Typical working hours were Monday through Friday 7 a.m - 7 p.m., however work occurred outside these times or on the weekends to expedite the project.

This phase of the project won awards from the American Public Works Association (APWA) and  “Best in Colorado” Asphalt Pavement Awards Program.
