Explore With a Naturalist Guide
Take part in a free class, event, program or activity! The City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department offers educational programs year-round. Offerings in June-October are listed in the Natural Areas Explorer booklet, published in May. Use Engage Fort Collins to check the calendar of events and register for activities. You'll need to create a free account with your name, phone number and email.
Educational programs in November-May, last minute additions and trail recommendations are in our free monthly electronic newsletter- sign up on this page.
Have a group, camp or daycare? Please use Engage to request an activity specifically for your participants instead of attending Explorer programs. This keeps group sizes manageable and gives everyone a quality experience. In order to accommodate as many requests as possible, there is a limit of 2 activities per organization per year. Weekend activities at natural areas in the foothills are not permitted due to limited parking availability.
