Recycling Ambassadors#

Recycling Ambassadors (RAs) are a passionate group of volunteers who support our community in recycling and reducing their waste.

Recycling Ambassadors help visitors at the City's Timberline Recycling Center and provide outreach at dozens of local events. Recycling Ambassadors connect with thousands of community members each year!

Volunteers at the Timberline Recycling Center#

Volunteers are often available onsite in the Everyday Recyclables Yard (link) at the Timberline Recycling Center to help visitors unload materials and answer recycling questions.

Volunteer Testimonials#

"I have enjoyed volunteering at TRC tremendously. The physical nature of the work, always having something to do, is great. The people are invariably pleasant, and lots have thanked me for being there. So far, a very satisfying experience." - Recycling Ambassador

"My work as a Recycling Ambassador is rewarding and aligns with my desire to help people understand how to lessen their impact on the environment. It is so exciting when people ask questions or learn a new way that they can recycle right and reduce waste. By educating others, I feel I'm having a positive impact on our community and the world." - Current Recycling Ambassador

"This experience was great because I was able to give back to my community, learn about recycling, and help others learn too! It was great to be able to talk to people who had knowledge to share with me and I loved answering peoples questions. It was also nice to be able to help people carry things if they wanted help. These little acts of kindness can be very rewarding." - Past Recycling Ambassador

"I could not have asked for a more unique, in depth, and hands on experience! Through my work as a recycling ambassador, I have learned immensely about waste management infrastructure, how to recycle the right way, and have encouraged and aided others in their path towards a more sustainable future!" - Current Recycling Ambassador
