What is it?#
The RESTORE Program provides a voluntary opportunity for young people (age 10-22) who have shoplifted to deal with their charge in a way that is meaningful to themselves and the community.
Intake Meeting#
The program participant will meet with RJ staff to explain the RESTORE Program.
Restore Session #1#
Held the second Saturday of each month from 8:15 am – 12:30 pm

Part 1 – Community/victim impact panel:
- Presentation of shoplifting on the community

Part 2 – Small group circle:
- Participants and parents will meet to talk about the incidents they were involved with and how they have been affected. Participants are required to admit their responsibility and to talk about the incident. This group will also include other young shoplifters, their parents, community members, and merchant representatives, and will be facilitated by RESTORE Volunteers.

Part 3 – Contract Development:
- Each young person will develop and sign a contract to repair the harm to the victim, the community, their family and themselves.
Restore Session #2#
Completion interview: The young person will return to RESTORE will all their completed contract items. The young person and a parent/guardian will meet with a small group of volunteers who will review the contract.
Program Requirements#
- If program participant is under the age of 18 a parent/guardian must attend all program meetings with the young person!
- $50 Program fee
