ACCESSIBILITY#

Website#

The Center for Creativity [CC] is committed to providing a fully accessible website experience for all users of all abilities, including those who rely on assistive technologies like screen readers, screen enlargement software, and alternative keyboard input devices to navigate the web.

CC follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 as the guiding principle for determining accessibility. These are internationally agreed-upon standards that cover a wide range of recommendations and best practices for making content useable. In general this includes:

  • Main navigation is text and uses ARIA-* attributes.
  • Content has been organized hierarchically.
  • Page layouts adapt to all modern devices, from smartphones to the desktop.
  • Font sizes are relative and can be adjusted by users.

Venue Access & Mobility#

The Center for Creativity is committed to ensuring that the venue is accessbile via ADA compliant and safe means of ingress and egress. As such the venue is equipped with:

  • Dedicated, accessible parking spaces near the building with appropriate curb cuts, leading to a clear, ramped access path into the main entrance.
  • Automatic door openers are supplied at primary entry points.
  • Elevator access that is clearly marked and accessible to those with mobility needs.
  • Restrooms & drinking fountains meeting ADA height and width requirements.

Service Dogs#

In compliance with the ADA and applicable Colorado laws a service animal is defined as a dog that is individually trained to perform tasks or do work for the benefit of a person with a physical or mental disability.

The Center for Creativity requires the servie dog to be under the control of the handler.  This can occur using a harness, leash, other tether, and/or voice. The service animal must not be disruptive, either verbally or physically, and the Center for Creativity reserves the right to ask those handlers with animals making a disturbance to leave the venue.

Neither the ADA nor Colorado’s service animal law includes pets or what are often referred to as ‘emotional support animals’ (animals that provide a sense of safety, companionship, and comfort to those with psychiatric or emotional disabilities or condition). Under no circumstance are pets or animals of any kind allowed inside the venue.
