FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Construction on East Harmony Road between South College Avenue (U.S. Highway 287) and South Timberline Road will involve periodic lane closures on Harmony and one full closure of Harmony soon. Commuters using this section of Harmony should anticipate the following traffic impacts during March:
Periodic lane closures on Harmony:
- When: Throughout March 2025
- Where: East Harmony Road between South College Avenue and South Timberline Road
- Details: Concrete repair work, utility relocations and asphalt preparation will necessitate periodic lane closures. While lanes may be reduced during these operations, Harmony will remain open and access to businesses will be maintained.
Boardwalk closed at Harmony March 20-25:
- When: Thursday, March 20 through Tuesday, March 25 (weather permitting)
- Where: Boardwalk Drive just south and north of Harmony
- Details: To facilitate the installation of a 24-inch water line by the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District, a full closure of Boardwalk is required. Detour routes will be provided in advance to guide motorists around the closure; all access to businesses will be maintained during the work.
Full intersection closure at Harmony and Boardwalk March 22-23:
- When: Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23 (weather permitting)
- Where: Intersection of Harmony and Boardwalk Drive
- Details: To facilitate the installation of a 24-inch water line by the Fort Collins-Loveland Water District, a full closure of the intersection is required. Detour routes will be provided in advance to guide motorists around the closure, including signage on roadways and updates to fcgov.com/construction.
Westbound Harmony closed at JFK March 22-23; lane closures March 24-26:
- When: Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23 (westbound Harmony fully closed); Monday, March 24 – Wednesday, March 26 (lane closures at the intersection)
- Where: Westbound Harmony at John F. Kennedy Parkway (JFK)
- Details: Westbound traffic on Harmony will be directed onto northbound John F. Kennedy Parkway while crews complete asphalt preparation at the intersection; eastbound traffic on Harmony will remain open and be reduced to one lane through the intersection. Traffic is advised to use Horsetooth Road instead of Harmony for east/west travel to avoid impacts March 22-23. Additional lane closures will occur to complete asphalt repairs Monday, March 24 - Wednesday, March 26.
Additional lane closures and other road impacts may be necessary on Harmony between College and Timberline in the coming weeks.
The construction work related to these projects is occurring simultaneously, aligned together to minimize ongoing impacts and complete road work efficiently:
- The City of Fort Collins’ Harmony Road Work: Phase 2 project, completing concrete maintenance and asphalt resurfacing of Harmony between College and Timberline
- Fort Collins-Loveland Water District’s Zone 5: Harmony Crossing project, installing a 24-inch water line across Harmony at Boardwalk Drive, part of a multi-phase water infrastructure project stretching eight miles across the city
- The City of Fort Collins’ Power Trail: Harmony Crossing project, extending the Power Trail beneath Harmony using an underpass and closing the existing one-mile gap in the Power Trail.
In addition to these impacts to Harmony, the Power Trail remains closed between Keenland Drive and East Trilby Road while the City constructs the new Siphon Overpass connecting the Power Trail to the newly-created Mail Creek Trail, and the City’s College-Trilby Intersection Improvements project will be resuming work in April.
