Fort Collins Police Arrest Three Individuals and Recover Drugs and Stolen Property

Released on Wednesday, July 3, 2024

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) served multiple search warrants at a motel in the 1500 block of North College Avenue. There was a heavy police presence at the location for about 6 hours while officers interviewed occupants and searched rooms and the business office pursuant to the warrants. Officers arrested three people for unrelated arrest warrants and recovered methamphetamine, fentanyl, a firearm, and stolen property. The investigation is ongoing, and additional criminal charges and arrests are anticipated.

FCPS' Strategic Operations Group (SOG) initiated and led today's operation in response to numerous complaints of criminal activity at this location. Personnel from the FCPS Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, the Criminal Investigations Division and multiple specialty units assisted in today's events. Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) and Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH) also provided stand-by medical support. The search and arrests occurred without incident and did not require medical assistance.

"The mission of our Strategic Operations Group is to address persistent complaints of criminal activity that negatively affect the quality of life and safety of Fort Collins community members. Today's operation demonstrates that FCPS takes complaints seriously and makes every effort to keep our community safe," said Lieutenant Kelly Weaver, FCPS Special Operations Division, who oversees the operation of SOG. "This was a combined effort among several specialty units, and we are appreciative of the additional support given by our PFA and PVH partners."

Anyone with information who has not already spoken to the police about criminal activity related to this investigation is encouraged to contact Officer Caleb McDowell (SOG) at 970.416.2036.
