Fort Collins, CO – Last Thursday, February 20, 2025, Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS), Colorado State Patrol and Port of Entry, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Timnath Police Department, and Windsor Police Department together conducted an enforcement operation to address critical safety violations, Port of Entry compliance, and impaired driving. During the nine-hour operation, there was a combination of five fixed and mobile Port locations at various times.

Of approximately 3,800 commercial vehicles travelling through check points, the enforcement effort yielded 50 safety inspections, one warrant arrest, and 137 citations for failure to stop, safety or mechanical violations. Commercial Motor Vehicles were required to stop at Ports of Entry to ensure the safety of the vehicle and the driver, in an effort to promote greater roadway safety. The inspections included reviewing driver documentation, assessing the mechanical condition of the vehicle, and checking for the safe transportation of hazardous materials.

“This was a successful enforcement operation which highlights the partnership that Northern Colorado law enforcement shares to make our communities safer,” said Sergeant David Lindsay, who supervises FCPS Traffic Enforcement Unit. “Enforcement initiatives like these allow us the opportunity to focus attention on specific behavior while providing a united message of commercial transport safety.”
