Northeast Fort Collins Road Work: Fall 2024 - Spring 2025#

Four road construction projects will be active in Northeast Fort Collins between September 2024 and May 2025. The map below shows where each project will impact roadways; see the section below for details about each project.

Projects#

Xcel Energy Gas Pipeline Upgrades Project#

Project owner	Xcel Energy
Work description	Xcel will be replacing and upsizing existing gas line infrastructure beneath roadways near the intersection of Timberline and Vine. This work has been permitted by the City.
When	September-October 2024
Where	Work will be occurring at various locations on Timberline and Vine near the intersection of Timberline and Vine, including work beneath Timberline as far south as Sykes Dr.
Traffic impacts	Roads will remain open to traffic during the work Flaggers will control the intersections of Timberline and Sykes and Timberline and Vine as needed

Timberline-Vine Intersection Project#

Project owner	City of Fort Collins Engineering Department
Work description	This project will widen the intersection of Timberline and Vine, adding left turn lanes in all directions and installing new traffic signal.
When	Late September – December 2024
Where	The intersection of Timberline and Vine
Traffic impacts	The intersection will be flagger-controlled until the end of October Timberline will be closed at the intersection for five days in October while crews install the intersection’s final asphalt surface; Vine will remain open to traffic during the closure The new traffic signal will be installed in November or December with minimal disruptions to traffic

Mountain Vista Resurfacing Project#

Project owner	City of Fort Collins Streets Department
Work description	This is an asphalt maintenance project, which will mill and overlay Mountain Vista in order to extend the life of its road surface without the need for complete reconstruction. Milling and overlaying removes surface defects and creates a smooth base for the new asphalt.
When	Work will be active Monday-Thursday for two weeks in October (dates to be announced)
Where	Mountain Vista Dr. from Timberline Rd. to Giddings Rd.
Traffic impacts	Mountain Vista will be fully closed to all traffic between Timberline and Giddings from Monday-Thursday for two consecutive weeks (dates to be announced). The road will reopen Friday-Sunday during the work period. Mountain Vista’s intersections at Timberline and at Giddings will remain open during the construction.

Mountain Vista Box Culvert Replacement Project#

Project owner	City of Fort Collins Engineering Department
Work description	This project will remove and replace an irrigation ditch box culvert under Mountain Vista just east of Timberline. Box culverts are concrete structures that channel water under roadways.
When	January-May 2025
Where	Mountain Vista just east of Timberline
Traffic impacts	Since crews will be fully replacing the concrete structure beneath the roadway, Mountain Vista will be fully closed to all traffic just east of the Timberline intersection during the project
