Jury Service Information#
The jury system is an integral part of the court process. The opportunity to serve on a jury allows you to become better informed about the court. If you have never appeared for jury service before, dedicated court staff will walk you through the process upon your arrival. These trials are typically one day in duration and occasionally can go past 5PM. Your service to your community as a juror will be respected and appreciated by defendants, attorneys, judges, court staff and the residents of the City of Fort Collins.
General Information#
If you have received a juror summons and will be appearing as ordered, please detach, sign, and return the bottom portion of the summons indicating that you are appearing on the date and time of the jury trial. Please email the Court at court@fcgov.com to confirm that the case is still scheduled. Updated information regarding the jury trial status will also be found on Municipal Court’s main webpage.
If you need to request a disqualification or postponement, fill out the appropriate section of your Juror Qualification paperwork and return this to the court as quickly as possible. You may be required to provide written proof of the reason for your request.
On the day of the trial, please check-in at 8:00 a.m. when the building opens. Please do not arrive prior to 8:00 a.m. Bring your completed jury questionnaire with you. If you misplace your questionnaire, we can provide you with a new one. The clerks will direct you to a waiting room until the trial begins. Those chosen for jury service will be sworn in and the Judge will guide you throughout the process. The Court Administrator or Deputy Court Administrator will be available to address any general questions.
Court Rules and Security Information#
