Building Forward with Our Climate Future#

Building Forward is an informative and fun opportunity to learn more about efficient, emissions-free buildings and their benefits to the community. Interact with City programs, equipment manufacturer representatives and booths, expert speakers, and our internationally recognized Ice Box Challenge exhibit. There will also be food trucks and other family-friendly activities.

This event is perfect for anyone interested in building efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. Whether you are a building professional, homeowner, or simply curious about electrification and reducing carbon emissions, Building Forward is an incredible opportunity to learn from the experts!

Our Climate Future#

Our Climate Future is a comprehensive plan to simultaneously address climate, energy and waste goals while improving our community’s equity and resilience. OCF articulates an unwavering commitment to mitigating and adapting to climate change with a people-first systems-approach.

By the year 2030, Our Climate Future aims to:

  1. Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% (below 2005 levels).
  2. Provide 100% renewable electricity.
  3. Achieve 100% landfill diversion or zero waste.

Did You Know?

Mowing bluegrass 2.5"-3" tall will promote deeper rooting and shade the plant's root zone. Never cut more than 1/3 of the leaf blade.

You can save approximately 50¢ per load by drying your laundry during off-peak hours. 

Fats, oils and grease can clog the pipes in your home and the City’s wastewater system. Don’t put them down the drain. Toss them instead.
