Flood Recovery#

Debris Removal
The City of Fort Collins is beginning efforts to remove flood debris from homes and businesses.
Curbside pickups of debris piles will be made throughout the flood corridor.
All properties within the flood zone, defined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency's 100-year flood maps, will be included on the debris pickup routes.

Volunteer Opportunities
The City has established a Volunteer Information Line for community members who are interested in volunteering to help in the aftermath of the flood.

Mold and Mildew Remediation
Standing water is a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Mold growth can begin on a damp surface within 24-48 hours.

Visit Healthy Homes for more information on mold mitigation and other cleanup tips.

Avoiding Scams

While recent flooding has brought out the best in our community, natural disasters also attract con artists and criminals who try to take advantage of people who are vulnerable.

Fort Collins residents are advised to stay alert for scammers. Especially common after disasters are scams involving home repair, bogus charities and identity theft.
