Wildfire Vulnerability#

In 2010, JW Associates completed a watershed wildfire assessment of the Upper CLP watershed (PDF 28MB).

The assessment included identification of zones of concern and an initial screening of potential opportunities and constraints for watershed protection within the zones of concern.

Four stakeholder meetings were held as part of the project to build collaborative support for the assessment. A similar study was conducted in 2011 for the Big Thompson watershed and involved several collaborators.

This forest in Rocky Mountain National Park, part of the Big Thompson watershed, has been severely impacted by the mountain pine beetle.

Did You Know?

In warm seasons at night (when temperatures are cooler), open windows when you feel comfortable doing so (i.e. in calm weather condition, with a window stopper in place, during clean air days, etc).

Installing cooking vent hood controls with VFD fans and sensors (rebates available) at your business can help save energy and money.

You can save water when washing fruits or vegetables by filling the sink with water instead of running the faucet.
